How we scored this table

We built a long list from Checkatrade's Glasgow kitchen fitter search, the Trusted Trader kitchen fitting category and the Google results we gathered for bathroom and kitchen companies, then checked 20 firms in depth on their review platforms and Companies House. Each got a score out of ten from the checks on the right. The table is that score, highest first.

In Glasgow, many kitchens are fitted by joinery and multi-trade firms rather than kitchen showrooms. We included them where kitchen fitting is one of their main listed services, and kitchen retailers that only sell were left out.

There is no licensing scheme for kitchen fitters in the UK. Our second check rewards independent vetting, a named registration such as Gas Safe, and a second vetting scheme. Google review counts could not be checked for every firm this time. Responsiveness has not been tested yet; scores are based on the other three checks, scaled to ten.

Before you hire a kitchen fitter in Glasgow

A new kitchen is joinery, plumbing, electrics and often gas, plastering and tiling in one room. Most problems come from gaps between those trades, so be clear about who does what.

Fit only, or supply and fit?

If you buy the kitchen from a retailer, you need a fitter who will work with it. Ask whether they will check the delivery against the plan before starting, and who pays if parts are missing or damaged.

Gas and electrics need registered trades

Moving or connecting a gas hob or cooker must be done by a Gas Safe registered engineer. New sockets and circuits should be done and certified by a registered electrician, especially in an older tenement where wiring may be due for an upgrade.

Tenement kitchens

Uneven floors, out-of-square walls and high ceilings make tenement kitchens slower to fit. Ask how the fitter will deal with them, and plan for a heat alarm, which every Scottish kitchen must have.

Five things to get in writing

  • The full scope. Units, worktops, appliances, sink, tiling, plastering and waste removal: which are included?
  • Who does the gas and electrics. Names and registration numbers, not just a promise.
  • The worktop. Who measures, templates and cuts it, especially for stone or solid wood.
  • Payment stages. A deposit is normal. Paying in full before fitting starts is not.
  • The guarantee. How long the workmanship is guaranteed, separately from the manufacturer's warranty on units.

Worktop joints are one of the clearest signs of a fitter's skill. Ask to see photos of their recent work.

Questions

Who is the best kitchen fitter in Glasgow?

In our 2026 table, G. Woods Bathrooms & Kitchens in Paisley comes top with 8.4 out of 10, from 175 Trusted Trader reviews averaging 4.9 and a history it says goes back to 1965. Osprey Kitchens & Bathrooms is second with 10 out of 10 from 193 Checkatrade reviews.

Why are joiners and builders on a kitchen fitter table?

In Glasgow, many kitchens are fitted by joinery and multi-trade firms. We included firms that list kitchen fitting as one of their main services and are well reviewed for it.

Do I need a Gas Safe engineer for a new kitchen?

Yes, if any gas appliance is being moved, disconnected or connected. It is illegal for anyone not on the Gas Safe Register to do that work.

Do kitchen fitters need to be registered?

No. There is no licensing scheme for kitchen fitting itself. The gas, plumbing and electrical work are what need properly registered trades.

Did any of these firms pay to be listed?

No. Nobody can pay for a place in our tables. Scores come only from the checks described on this page.
