Lawmoor Street (G5) · Covers Glasgow and central Scotland
9.4out of 10
The most reviewed window company we found in Glasgow, with a 4.9 from 1,387 Google reviews, and the only firm on our shortlist we could confirm on the Glass and Glazing Federation member directory. It has been a limited company since 2013. It is a larger, sales-led firm that also offers finance, so get a fixed written quote and compare it with at least one other.
Wiltonburn Road (G53) · Covers Glasgow and the west of Scotland
8.4out of 10
A family run firm that says it was established in 1997, a limited company since 2000 and a Which? Trusted Trader since 2014. It scores well on two platforms: 4.9 from 337 Which? reviews and 4.8 from 64 on Google. It also offers sash style windows, so it suits tenement flats as well as houses.
Glasgow · Covers the central belt
8.2out of 10
A perfect 10 out of 10 from 525 Checkatrade reviews, built up since it joined in December 2014. Its founders say they have more than 40 years in home improvement, it uses joiners rather than fitters, and it takes no deposit. Only four of those reviews came in the last year, so ask for recent local references.
Brownsburn Industrial Estate, Airdrie · Covers Glasgow and central Scotland
8.2out of 10
A perfect 5.0 from 459 Which? reviews, the most of any firm on the Which? list of window companies serving Glasgow, and the Which? Trusted Trader of the Year for 2023. It has been endorsed since 2017 and a limited company since 2011. It is based in Airdrie, so check lead times for jobs in the city.
Bath Street (G2) · Also lists an East Kilbride address
8.0out of 10
A 4.9 from 572 Google reviews and a perfect 5.0 from 31 on Which?, where it has been endorsed since 2021. It fits uPVC windows and doors only, takes no deposit and gives a 10 year guarantee, by its own account. It has been a limited company since 2018, which keeps its track record score just short of full marks.
Woodhead Road, Nitshill · Showrooms in Glasgow and Kilmarnock
7.8out of 10
Strong on volume across two platforms: 4.6 from 324 Google reviews and 9.6 out of 10 from 142 on Checkatrade. It fits windows and doors as well as bathrooms (it is number 4 on our bathroom fitters table), and it has traded since 2013. The lower Google average holds it back.
Southside (G44) · Covers Glasgow
7.6out of 10
A 4.9 from 106 Which? reviews, plus a smaller 4.8 from 16 on Google. It has been a Which? Trusted Trader since 2019 and a limited company since 2013, and it lists a wide range of glazing work alongside windows and doors.

7.4out of 10
A perfect 5.0 from 189 Which? reviews, endorsed since 2021. It fits uPVC windows and doors and replaces double and triple glazed units, and it has been a limited company since 2017. It is based in Cumbernauld, to the north east of the city.

Lintlaw Drive (G52) · Covers Glasgow and Scotland
7.1out of 10
A 4.9 from 91 Google reviews and a 4.9 from 29 on Which?. It makes, fits and repairs glazing from its own studio in Glasgow and offers same day call outs. Companies House currently shows its confirmation statement as overdue, which cost it points on track record.
Good firms that missed out on this edition
We built a long list from Google Maps, Which? Trusted Traders, Checkatrade and the Glass and Glazing Federation directory, then checked 18 firms in depth. Each got a score out of ten from the checks on the right. The table is that score, highest first. Full method
There is no compulsory registration scheme for window fitters in Scotland, and FENSA and CERTASS only apply in England and Wales. Full marks on our second check go only to firms we confirmed on the Glass and Glazing Federation member directory. Google Maps blocked our checks partway through, so some firms are scored on one platform. Responsiveness has not been tested yet; scores are based on the other three checks, scaled to ten.
Volume and average rating on the main platform, plus credit for strong reviews on a second platform.
Full marks for GGF membership we confirmed ourselves. Independent vetting such as Which? Trusted Traders or Checkatrade scores less.
Years trading, backed by Companies House or a membership date. Points come off for overdue filings.
New windows are one of the bigger jobs most homeowners pay for, and the double glazing trade still has a reputation for pushy selling. A few checks protect you.
Glasgow has many conservation areas, and many tenements and villas are listed. Changing the style or material of windows in those buildings usually needs consent from the council. Our guide on windows and doors in Glasgow conservation areas explains what to ask.
Ask for the window energy rating or U-value, the glass and frame type, the locks, what happens to the old frames, how the openings will be made good, and the guarantee. Compare like with like across at least two quotes.
Several firms on our list take no deposit. If a firm does ask for one, keep it small and ask whether it is protected by an insurance backed scheme.
In our 2026 table, Homeshield Scotland comes top with 9.4 out of 10. It has a 4.9 from 1,387 Google reviews and is the only firm on our shortlist we confirmed as a Glass and Glazing Federation member. Southside Window Systems is second with 8.4.
No. FENSA and CERTASS certificates are part of the building regulations system in England and Wales. Scotland has its own building standards, so a Scottish window fitter does not need to be FENSA registered. Membership of the Glass and Glazing Federation, which sets a code of practice for its members, is a better sign here.
Often, yes, in some form. If your building is listed or in a conservation area, changing the style or material of the windows usually needs consent from Glasgow City Council. Title deeds for tenement flats can also control how windows look. Check before you sign a contract.
No. Nobody can buy a place in the table. Some firms pay to be on Checkatrade or Which? Trusted Traders, but that only counts here because those schemes check identity, insurance and references.
