We looked at more than 40 tilers working in Glasgow, checked 16 of them in depth across Google, Checkatrade, the Trusted Trader scheme, company websites and Companies House, and ranked the best ten. Nobody paid to be here.

Lochwinnoch · Covers Glasgow and Renfrewshire
7.6out of 10
The most reviewed tiler we found: 9.96 out of 10 from 227 Checkatrade reviews, with 26 in the last year. Garry Turkington is a sole trader with more than ten years in the trade and has been on Checkatrade since 2018. He covers all kinds of wall and floor tiling, and takes on insurance work.
Glasgow · Covers Glasgow and Lanarkshire
6.8out of 10
Perfect scores on two platforms: 10 out of 10 from 102 Checkatrade reviews and 5.0 from 68 on Google. Maksim Panfilov does domestic and commercial tiling and has built up those reviews quickly, with 23 on Checkatrade in the last year. He joined Checkatrade in 2024, which is why he sits below Get Tiling.
West End of Glasgow · Covers Glasgow
6.6out of 10
The highest Google review count of any Glasgow tiler: a perfect 5.0 from 166 reviews. The West End tiler fits new tiles and also cleans, re-grouts and restores existing ones, which suits tenement bathrooms and hallways. Its website says it is an accredited member of The Tile Association; we could not confirm that, and we found no independent vetting.
Paisley · Covers Glasgow and Renfrewshire
6.4out of 10
A perfect 10 out of 10 from 70 Checkatrade reviews, 14 of them in the last year. Martin Hamilton describes himself as a professionally trained tiler and has been on Checkatrade since 2020. He also offers a 24 hour call out for urgent repairs.
Hillend Road, Clarkston · Covers the Southside and East Renfrewshire
6.0out of 10
Rated 5.0 out of 5 from 25 Trusted Trader reviews and 5.0 from 20 on Google. The Southside tiler covers wall and floor tiling, bathroom refurbishment and laminate flooring, and has been a Trading Standards Trusted Trader since 2020.
Bishopton · Covers Glasgow and Renfrewshire
5.9out of 10
A perfect 5.0 from 66 Google reviews. Smith's is a tiler and bathroom fitter and says it is City and Guilds qualified. We found no independent vetting and no date for when the business started, which keeps it in the middle of the table.
Glasgow · Covers Glasgow
5.4out of 10
A perfect 5.0 from 25 Google reviews. Profix says it has more than 30 years of experience tiling across Glasgow, from West End tenement bathrooms to city centre flats, and it can source tiles as well as fit them. We could not confirm the business's age or find any independent vetting.
Glasgow · Covers Glasgow
5.2out of 10
Rated 9.89 out of 10 from 20 Checkatrade reviews, 12 of them in the last year. Gavin Cunningham tiles bathrooms and kitchens and handles repairs, with a 24 hour call out. He joined Checkatrade in 2025, so he has the shortest track record in the table.
Glasgow · Covers Glasgow
4.9out of 10
Rated 4.8 from 44 Google reviews, with customers praising the finish and reliability. Martin Douglas does tiling and plastering, which helps when walls need making good before the tiles go on. We found no independent vetting or trading history.
Busby · Covers Glasgow and East Renfrewshire
4.8out of 10
A perfect 5.0 from 23 Google reviews. As well as ceramic and porcelain tiling, Busby Precision fits LVT flooring and brick slip cladding. We found no independent vetting or trading history.
Good firms that missed out on this edition
We built a long list from Google Maps, Checkatrade's Glasgow tiling search and the Trusted Trader tiling category, then checked 16 firms in depth on their review platforms, their websites and Companies House. Each got a score out of ten from the checks on the right. The table is that score, highest first.
Tile shops and suppliers were left out, and so were bathroom companies whose main business is full refits; those are on our bathroom fitters table.
There is no licensing scheme for tilers in the UK. Our second check rewards independent vetting, a named trade body or qualification, and a second vetting scheme. Responsiveness has not been tested yet; scores are based on the other three checks, scaled to ten.
Volume and average rating on the main platform, plus credit for strong reviews on a second platform.
Independent vetting such as Checkatrade or Trusted Trader, plus credit for a named trade body or qualification. Claims we could not check score less.
Years trading, backed by Companies House or a membership date. Website claims count for less.
Tiling looks simple, but most failures come from what is underneath: the wall, the floor and the waterproofing.
Old tenement walls and timber floors move. Ask how the tiler will prepare the surface, whether they will use backer board or a decoupling membrane on timber floors, and how they will waterproof shower areas before tiling.
Many Glasgow closes and hallways have original Victorian floor tiles and wall tiles. A tiler who restores, cleans and re-grouts can often save them, which costs far less than replacing them and keeps the character of the building.
Large-format and natural stone tiles take longer to lay and need different adhesives. Make sure each quote covers the same tiles, the same layout and the same preparation.
In our 2026 table, Get Tiling comes top with 7.6 out of 10, from 227 Checkatrade reviews averaging 9.96 and eight years on the platform. Max Tiling is second, with perfect scores on both Checkatrade and Google.
Our score also rewards independent vetting and a track record we can check. Firms with strong Google reviews but no vetting or trading history score less on those two checks.
Often, yes. Cracked or loose tiles can be lifted and relaid, missing tiles can be matched, and dirt and old sealer can be cleaned off. A specialist will tell you what can be saved.
No. There is no licensing scheme for tilers. The Tile Association is a trade body some tilers join, and independent vetting and reviews are the best signs of reliable work.
No. Nobody can pay for a place in our tables. Scores come only from the checks described on this page.
